Not one CE class I've had, actually taught me anything I could use in the field. I think at least 2 CE class hours should be required for your actual trade. Why really have CE classes if almost everyone gets nothing out of it? Most in person classes, everyone starts talking about war stories on the job, then just to finish the class, the instructor reads quickly the rest of the class to finish. If you're looking to learn about the plumbing code, since you passed your exam, this course is for you. Get something out of Continuing Education. I've put all the important tables for each section, into categories like venting, sanitary, supports, etc so you will know how many F.U.' You can run how many feet, on what size pipe. You can print it up, laminate it, keep it in your truck. Give to experienced helpers/plumbers so they don't have to bother you, maybe just to ask whatever answer they came up with is correct. You don't have to just be someone who has to get CE hrs. Any plumber/helper could benefit from this class. I made it interesting, and the time will go fast. I only put useful things in that most people would use in the field. Not doing what fitting Z is on a 10 story building, which very few people would ever use. And it would be sized on the approve plan. Let's face it, most people don't do buildings higher than two or three stories, and usually draw up their own isometrics to get submitted for approval. I even put a chart to use a 30/60 triangle to draw isometric's. This class is for you.
I started plumbing in the Coral Springs area and been plumbing ever since.
Licensed Master Plumber. I've asked several plumbers and vice versa questions like, "I'm on a job, if I do this will it pass inspection? Sadly, most plumbers, including myself, really don't kmow. Why? Because how many plumbers actually look in the code book or even own an updated one?
Opened Ray-Jack's Plumbing Inc. After becoming a Lecensed Master Plumber I started my company and serviced the South Florida area with my experienced staff.
Started Florida Plumbing School. I've been looking for a "refresher" class like what I'm offering for 15 years or so. Many plumbers have been too.
